Metal Coated and Stainless Steel Doors
Using our Thermally Modified Ash doors we coat them with real metal. This patented process creates a very unique look telegraphing the wood grain pattern into the metal while adding additional durability to our doors.
Features:
- 3 different metals – Copper, Bronz and White Bronz
- Anti-corrosive
- Flexible, allowing small movements in the doors without cracking or splitting
- Impervious to UV light
- Produced using recycled metals
- Does not conduct electricity and is non-galvanic
- Developed to be used outdoors as well as indoors
- Maintenance free except for occasional cleaning
- Option of having the metal clear coated to stop the natural patina of the metal or not and let it naturally patina creating a weathered metal look.
Ideal uses and locations:
Because it is UV light impervious and its resistance to moisture and temperature this product is recommended from full sun exposure to enclosed areas.
Stainless Steel Doors
We use commercial grade stainless steel with a brushed finish over an exterior marine grade core.
Features:
- Impervious to UV light
- Not affected by moisture
- Maintenance free except for cleaning
Ideal use and locations:
This produce is recommended for outdoor use where exposed to full sun and all weather to inside or enclosed areas.
Accoya Doors
Accoya wood has been modified through an acetylation process. This non-toxic process is applied to sustainable woods matching the properties of the best tropical hardwoods. Accoya wood is modified all the way through eliminating the need for any need for additional chemical preservatives. Accoya is ideally suited for a solid paint finish.
Features:
- Natural beauty of real wood
- Very light in natural colour so any colour of paint is doable.
- 97.7% dimensionally stable significantly reducing warping and expansion.
- Most durable wood for outdoors
- Will resist rot and decay for 50 years above ground (25 years in ground)
- Accoya wood is virtually rot-proof
- Non-toxic
- Superior resistance to UV degradation with translucent to solid coating
- Hardness is actually increased through this process.
- Improved finish durability. Simple finish maintenance may be needed every 3-5 years depending on UV exposure.
Ideal use and locations:
Recommended for outdoor use where exposed to full sun and all weather to enclosed areas.
Thermally Modified Doors
Thermally modified lumber has been modified through high temperatures and steam. Using domestic renewable species it enhances its beauty giving it a rich exotic appearance. This non-toxic process changes the sugars and resins so they are no longer digestible improving the rot and decay resistance of the wood. The Thermally Modified process also significantly reduces the woods ability to absorb moisture improving its dimensional stability.
Features:
- Real wood with an enhanced appearance.
- Developed for outdoor use.
- 75% more stable than normal wood reducing warping and expansion.
- Inherent strength of a hardwood.
- Non-toxic
- Like normal wood it is susceptible to UV rays. We use an environmentally friendly finish developed just for Thermally Modified Lumber to reduce the effects of UV rays.
- Additional finish application may be needed when exposed to UV rays on a yearly or bi-yearly basis.
Recommended outdoors with limited sunlight exposure. Ideal for enclosed or covered areas.
